Pregnancy Testing & Ultrasound Referral

Pregnancy Testing

We provide a laboratory-quality, FDA-approved, urine test that can detect a pregnancy within minutes, often as soon as seven days after conception.

Referrals for a free ultrasound

  • Ultrasound is a reliable way to confirm a pregnancy.

  • An ultrasound can confirm that the pregnancy is in the uterus and determine the gestational age of the embryo.  This is important to know even if you plan to have a medical abortion (abortion pill) (Mayo Clinic).

  • We can provide you with a referral for a free ultrasound and help you set up an appointment.

What if my test comes back positive?

We want to increase your resources to empower you to make the choice that is best for you:

  • You may be excited, scared, or upset to find out you are pregnant. We are here to listen and support you as you process your feelings.

  • We can also connect you with community resources, including programs for food, housing, and employment.

Pregnancy Consultation

What should I expect?

Expect a conversation.  We are here for you.  We are committed to answering your questions; providing practical, compassionate information; and connecting you to needed resources.

Will I be pressured about my reproductive decisions?

There is never judgement here.  Some of of our staff and volunteers have experienced unplanned pregnancies before.  Some chose abortion, while others chose adoption or parenting.  All of them would be willing to talk with you about their experiences.

We want you to feel comfortable and safe here.  We will not show you graphic images.  We do not profit from any of your reproductive or health decisions.

Will I be pressured about my religious beliefs?

No.  While our Christian faith is important in our own lives, and all of our funding comes from people and communities of faith, your personal faith background and religious or non-religious tradition has no bearing on our interaction with or services to you.

What are my options?

You have three main options:

  • Adoption: Adoption is a wonderful opportunity that is often overlooked.  Should you choose to pursue this option, you have the power to choose a family, as well as how much contact you will have with your child.  We can help refer you to an adoption agency if you feel this is the best decision for you.  For adoption stories, click here.

  • Abortion: At your request, we can provide you with  information about medical and surgical abortion. Before taking the abortion pill, it is important to have an ultrasound to reduce the risk of an undetected ectopic pregnancy and to get an accurate picture of gestational age. You can view detailed information about what to expect from the abortion pill (medical abortion) from Mayo Clinic here. If you would like to talk to someone who has had an abortion, let us know. Goldendale Pregnancy Resource Center does not provide or refer for abortions

  • Parenting: Although parenting may sound overwhelming, you have the potential to be a great parent.  Our staff can work with you to help you understand your parenting options and direct you to area resources that can help.  Our video prenatal and parenting courses are taken at your own pace and provide you with actionable information and tools which will enable you to be the best parent you can be.  If you want professional counseling, we can refer you.  Our staff will be there to support you through every step of the process.

Each of these options has the potential to affect you in different ways physically, emotionally, and psychologically.  As with any major decision, we recommend that you carefully explore your options.

I just found out I'm pregnant. Now what should I do?

  • Before you make a decision, make sure you explore all of your options so that you can make the best decision for your situation.

  • At Goldendale Pregnancy Resource Center, we're not here to judge or force you to do something you don't want to do. If you want, our staff will go over the facts about ALL of your options with you.

  • We understand that sometimes you need a place to feel safe in, share your story, and process your thoughts. We are here to listen to your needs. We are committed to providing accurate and honest information.

  • While you may feel stuck, you genuinely have several options and more resources than you may think. We offer one-on-one consultation, and can walk through this with you, as you sort through your possible paths.

Abortion Recovery Care

Although some women feel relief immediately after an abortion, it's common to suffer symptoms of post-abortion grief and trauma days, months, or even years afterwards.

This is a safe and confidential place where your privacy is our first priority.  We provide an environment that promotes healing and restoration for women and men who have suffered the loss of a child through abortion.  We can arrange meetings over the phone or in person and support groups to help you find healing.

We invite you on a journey where you can begin to process your emotional pain and be restored to wholeness, experience hope, and live in peace.  It's never too late to begin.

For additional details about current programs, please visit our Abortion Recovery Page, call (509) 773-5501, or text (509) 767-7379
