We specialize in increasing your options
What should I expect?
Expect a conversation. We are here for you. We are committed to answering your questions; providing practical, compassionate information; and connecting you to needed resources. We will help you walk through your options as you decide what is best for you.
Will I be pressured about my reproductive decisions?
There is never judgement here. Some of of our staff and volunteers have experienced unplanned pregnancies before. Some chose abortion, while others chose adoption or parenting. All of them would be willing to talk with you about their experiences.
We want you to feel comfortable and safe here. We will not show you graphic images. We do not profit from any of your reproductive or health decisions.
I just found out I'm pregnant. Now what should I do?

-
Before you make a decision, make sure you explore all of your options so that you can make the best decision for your situation.

-
At Goldendale Pregnancy Resource Center, we're not here to judge or force you to do something you don't want to do. If you want, our staff will go over the facts about ALL of your options with you.

-
We understand that sometimes you need a place to feel safe in, share your story, and process your thoughts. We are here to listen to your needs. We are committed to providing accurate and honest information.

-
While you may feel stuck, you genuinely have several options and more resources than you may think. We offer one-on-one consultation, and can walk through this with you, as you sort through your possible paths.
Will I be pressured about my religious beliefs?
No. While our Christian faith is important in our own lives, and our funding comes from people and communities of faith, your personal faith background and religious or non-religious tradition has no bearing on our interaction with or services to you.
What are my options?
You have three main options:

-
Abortion:
-
At your request, we can provide you with information about medical and surgical abortion.
-
Before taking the abortion pill, it is important to have an ultrasound to reduce the risk of an undetected ectopic pregnancy and to get an accurate picture of gestational age. We can refer you for a free ultrasound.
-
You can view detailed information about what to expect from the abortion pill (medical abortion) from Mayo Clinic here.
-
If you would like to talk to someone who has had an abortion, let us know.
-
Goldendale Pregnancy Resource Center does not provide or refer for abortions.
-

-
Adoption:
-
Adoption is an opportunity that is often overlooked. Making an adoption plan is not "giving away" your child, but rather choosing someone else to parent your child.
-
If you choose to pursue this option, you have the power to choose a family, as well as how much contact you will have with your child. We will help you understand your rights in making an adoption plan.
-
We can help refer you to an adoption agency if you feel this is the best decision for you. For adoption stories, click here.
-
Choosing another person to parent your child can come with many emotions. We are here to listen and support you whatever decision you make. You have time to slow down and consider this option.

-
Our video prenatal and parenting courses are taken at your own pace and give you useful information and tools to help you to be the best parent you can be.
-
If you want professional counseling, we can refer you. Our staff will be there to support you through every step of the process.
-
Each of these options has the potential to affect you in different ways physically, emotionally, and psychologically. As with any major decision, we recommend that you carefully explore your options.

-
It is illegal for someone to force you to have an abortion.
